I found following line in sqlnet.ora file
SQLNET.AUTHENTICATION_SERVICES= (NTS)
Then i modified the above line as below and it started working
SQLNET.AUTHENTICATION_SERVICES= (NONE)
Seems that The Oracle server is not configured to support Windows authentication
